This 2021 Tesla Model 3 is one of our demonstration vehicles here at Audio Edge.
Sony hosted a "demo car contest" to showcase their new Mobile ES line of car audio components.
This was our submission.
We placed TOP 10 in this nationwide contest.
Meet Mobile ES™ High-Resolution Touchscreen Audio. The oversized 10.1" HD capacitive touchscreen includes an improved graphical interface, along with the full suite of connectivity, from USB Type-C® to wireless smartphone conversion including LDAC high-res Bluetooth® streaming. And of course, the powerful amplifier delivers dynamic and immersive sound.
For door speakers, we chose the Mobile ES 6.5" 3-way components.
These were ran fully active on (2) Mobile ES XM4 amplifiers.
Lightweight Rigid Cellular is our original speaker diaphragm formerly known as MRC, engineered for high rigidity, light weight and good internal loss (low resonant distortion). In addition to its new coating for even more rigidity, the latest generation compound has been further optimized alongside mechanical driver improvements, to deliver an even wider frequency response and smoother, more natural sound characteristics.
An acoustically-optimised spider design allows for higher power handling and airflow, with a profile designed for more rapid and precise cushioning of the speaker cone.
The Five-beam Frame design disperses resonance while the integrated Dynamic Air Diffuser ensures efficient air circulation for smooth cone travel and cooling of the voice coil.
The resonance damping phase plug on the XS-162ES woofer helps realise ideal frequency response, right up to the crossover point with the matched tweeters. A rigid aluminium bobbin and Dynamic Air Diffuser further support the speaker's wide frequency response, for controlled and dynamic bass delivery.
Another proprietary technology, the separated notches curved on the surround improves vertical amplitude symmetry of the woofer, resulting in less distortion and clear sound.
We utilized (2) Mobile ES 12" subwoofers in a custom designed sealed enclosure.
These subwoofers were powered by a Mobile ES XM1 monoblock amplifier.
