Custom Tesla Roadster Audio Upgrade in Scottsdale, Arizona

This Tesla Roadster came into our Audio Edge design studio with a clear goal—add real low-frequency performance without sacrificing space, aesthetics, or the integrity of the vehicle. As with many Tesla audio upgrades, space is extremely limited. Off-the-shelf solutions simply don’t exist for a platform like this, which is why this project required a fully custom subwoofer enclosure designed specifically for the vehicle.

3D-Printed Subwoofer Enclosure Design

To begin, we performed a full 3D scan of the passenger kick panel area, allowing us to design a completely vehicle-specific enclosure in CAD.

Unlike traditional builds, this project was engineered to be 100% 3D printed, pushing beyond the typical hybrid approach of printed + hand-fabricated components.

The enclosure was designed to:

• Maximize internal airspace within a compact footprint
• Maintain structural rigidity under load
• Fit seamlessly within the factory interior

This level of precision is what defines high-end custom car audio fabrication in Scottsdale.

Advanced Materials for High-End Car Audio

With a target of approximately 6 liters of internal volume, every surface and contour had to serve a purpose. The enclosure was carefully shaped to:

• Maximize internal airspace within an extremely tight footprint

• Maintain proper structural integrity under pressure
• Integrate cleanly into the factory interior without interference

Material selection played a huge role here. We utilized carbon fiber reinforced nylon for its strength, heat resistance, and dimensional stability—critical for a part living in a high-stress automotive environment.

To execute this properly, we invested in new large-format printing capability specifically for this project. This allowed us to print the enclosure in its optimal orientation without compromising strength or introducing unnecessary seams.

The result is a single, unified structure that wouldn’t be possible using traditional fabrication methods.

Precision Manufacturing & Fabrication

Once printed, the enclosure was test-fit, refined, and integrated into the vehicle with the same attention to detail we bring to every build.

The final result:

• A completely stealth installation
• Minimal loss of usable cabin space
• A clean, OEM+ appearance

And most importantly—a massive improvement in low-frequency performance that transforms the driving experience.
